Frequently asked questions

How does the Induction work?

The 20 min ESSENTIAL Battery Fire Safety Induction is designed for all workplaces in any industries, anywhere in the world.

It is a fast and effective way to raise awareness and reduce EV and battery fire risk.

If you'd like a demo before rolling out training to your organisation, simply contact our team at hello@evfiresafe.com and we'll set one up!

Who designed the Induction?

The team at EV FireSafe with other global experts! We've been researching, burning, tearing down and examining EVs since 2018.

We're funded by the Department of Defence to research EV battery fires (our research is at evfiresafe.com), and have worked with government departments, critical infrastructure clients and emergency agencies to build awareness and enhance safety all over the world.

How has the Induction been developed?

The Induction is based on our extensive experience, data and globally emerging best practice, and in collaboration with insurance companies, peak bodies and emergency agencies.

We're setting the global standard in EV fire safety and response, and have built out frameworks and evidence-based assessment tools designed to protect people and property.

Can it be customised?

Yes! Depending on your sector, we can customise your workplace induction to show specialist EVs, relevant scenario-learning backgrounds and add your logo and other details. Contact us to chat!

Is it available in other languages?

Not yet! All courses and video content are in English, but we're working on translations as well. Checkout and/or invoice payments will be shown in Australian dollars.

Are these courses accredited or have CPD points?

As there are no accreditation standards for the courses we run (anywhere in the world...yet!) our courses are not accredited, and we currently don't offer CPD points.

On all topics, we aim to set the global standard in EV fire training.

Do you sell EV fire blankets or extinguishers?

We're very proud of our global research into EV battery fires (read more about that here) which is funded by the Australian Department of Defence. That funding means the knowledge we share with you here is completely independent and not influenced by products sales.

An important point: Our team has serious reservations about the safety and efficacy of fire blankets, extinguishers and underbody sprays (amongst other products) marketed as suitable for lithium-ion or EV battery fires. We have conducted testing - and been present at testing - where these products have repeatedly failed to work.

If you are considering the purchase of a product, please ensure you have done your due diligence as their use may cause injury or fatality.

Some courses on battery fires are free...how come I have to pay for yours?

While there are some courses that claim to be free, these are typically offered by companies manufacturing or selling products (such as fire blankets or extinguishers).

That's not training...it's a sales pitch.

Our team have developed independent, data-driven training that's recognised and used by emergency responders and companies all over the world. When you train with EV FireSafe you can be assured you're receiving unbiased, continuously updated and fearless advice that will raise awareness and reduce the risk of a battery fire, enhancing the safety of people and property.

What if I have a question?

No worries! If something isn't clear, you'd like an Induction quote or have a question, email us at hello@evfiresafe.com - allow up to 48 hours for a response from our team.
