Frequently asked questions
Are events free or is there a cost?
Some of our events are free, primarily for emergency responders, however we also run in-depth technical online and in-person sessions that attract a fee.
Can I organise training for my organisation?
Yes! Our global team of qualified trainers have completed our Electric Responder Level 3 (Train the Trainer) and are also trainer assessor qualified. Just drop us a line at hello@evfiresafe.com to talk location and topic.
Do I have to sign up to evfiresafe.training?
Yes, we do ask you to sign up to register and/or pay for events, just so we can track our learning products (but your information and any payment details are secure!)
You're based in Australia...can I join from another country?
Absolutely! Online events can be joined from anywhere, but please check on the location of in-person events (which are run all over the world).
What will I learn?
Everything you need to know to work more confidently around EVs and lithium-ion batteries, based on your role, sector and requirements. Don't see what you're looking for? Contact us at hello@evfiresafe.com and we can build a course.
How has this training been developed?
EV FireSafe has been researching, burning, tearing down and examining EVs since 2018. These courses are based on our extensive experience, data and globally emerging best practice. In may cases, we’re setting the global standard in EV fire safety and response, and have built out frameworks and evidence-based assessment tools designed to protect people and property.
Who's delivering these events?
The team at EV FireSafe with other global experts! We're funded by the Department of Defence to research EV battery fires (our research is at evfiresafe.com), and have worked with government departments, critical infrastructure clients and emergency agencies to build awareness and enhance safety all over the world.
Are events accredited or have CPD points?
As there are no accreditation standards for the events we run (anywhere in the world...yet!) our courses are not accredited, and we currently don't offer CPD points.
On all topics, we aim to set the global standard in EV fire training.
What if I have a question?
If something isn't clear, or you want to get in touch, email us at hello@evfiresafe.com - allow up to 48 hours for a response from our team.
Do you sell EV fire blankets or extinguishers?
We're very proud of our global research into EV battery fires (read more about that here) which is funded by the Australian Department of Defence. That funding means the knowledge we share with you here is completely independent and not influenced by products or sales.
An important point: Our team has serious reservations about the safety and efficacy of fire blankets, extinguishers and underbody sprays (amongst other products) marketed as suitable for lithium-ion or EV battery fires (thermal runaway). We have tested, and been present at testing, where these products have repeatedly failed to work. If you are considering the purchase of a product, please ensure you have done your due diligence as their use may cause injury or fatality.
